Virginia 2024 Strawberry Festivals - Where, When and More Details!

There are two general types of strawberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Strawberry festival held at and by a farm
They are different in what they offer, so they are grouped separately.
(of course not all states and areas have both. And following the
festival listings are links to our easy to follow directions about
making strawberry jam, freezing strawberries, strawberry pies and
much more.
Community Strawberry Festivals

The Ashland Strawberry Festival - Usually the first
or second Saturday in
June (see their website for this year's dates) from 10 am
to 5 pm
Ashland, VA. Held on
the campus of Randolph-Macon College. There are many attractions
including local entertainment from community choirs and orchestras,
crafts, and any type of strawberry dish you could imagine. For more

ashlandstrawberryfaire@comcast.net. The Faire is a traditional
celebration to promote the community and celebrate the strawberry
harvest. The Faire is held in June, on the campus of Randolph-Macon
College campus. The Faire is a free, community and family-oriented event
during which non-profit groups raise funds and offer something for
everyone. There are vendors selling arts, crafts, plants, and antiques
to the thousands who attend. There are local businesses featured from
Ashland and Hanover. The proceeds from the Faire provide scholarships
and grants to local non-profit groups.

Delaplane Strawberry Festival -
UPDATE for 2022: It's now "Emmanuel PopUp Market" and apparently, they no longer hold the festival there is absolutely nothing on their website nor Facebook
pages about it for this year

Pungo Strawberry Festival -
normally, every Memorial Day weekend,
Saturday and Sunday, 9 am to 7 pm -
Virginia Beach, VA. The Festival
begins at the corner of Indian River Road and Princess Anne Road and
continues south on Princess Anne Road. Public parking is available
within easy walking distance, north and south on Princess Anne Road.

2-day festival period was 80,000. All the strawberries you can eat
prepared in over 50 different ways is the Festival highlight, but
activities will also include a Pie-Eating contest, several Racing Car
exhibits, one of the largest Carnivals on the east coast, continuous
entertainment on 4 stages, a Parade, Livestock Sale and Show, a
multi-million Military Display, Pig Races, Youth Art Show, and some of
the most unique Arts and Crafts exhibited on the east coast. We welcome
your participation in this year's Festival. Don't miss this
family-oriented, fun, wholesome, alcohol-free event. Plus, there are
plenty of mouth-watering strawberries. The Festival is a non-profit
organization and prides itself on its ability to give to the community.
All proceeds from our Festival are donated to non-profit community and
service organizations. NO PETS ALLOWED.

Roanoke
Strawberry Festival - Always held the first weekend in May, Friday from 11 am to 6 pm and
Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm rain or shine, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm (It was Saturday May 4th in
2019)

"Favorite Annual Festival" by the readers of The Roanoker magazine, the
Strawberry Festival is one of Roanoke's most popular and well-known
events. The Strawberry Festival brings the community together amid an
atmosphere of good, old-fashioned, family fun. Thirty-seven years ago,
the parents at Community School created an event to celebrate the
strawberry has culminated in a beloved yearly event that draws 20,000
attendees. Strawberry Festival signals the beginning of summer and the
festival season for residents of the Roanoke Valley. Families, young
professionals, and kids of all ages come out for two fun-filled days of
scrumptious berry-filled treats, children's games and activities, live
musical entertainment, food and arts and crafts vendors.

with The Harwell Grice Band.A fun filled afternoon with plenty of fresh
strawberries on ice cream, snow cones, balloons, and children's
activities including a rock climbing wall and face painting. The Canned Biskits among other live music are scheduled to play. Bring your lawn
chair and come early. This is a free community event courtesy of
Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Fresh strawberries, ice cream, snow

bands and several gospel groups.y.
