Remember to always check with the farm's own website or Facebook page before you go - or call or email them if they don't have a website or Facebook page. Conditions at the farms and crops can change literally overnight, so if you want to avoid a wasted trip out there - check with the farm directly before you go! If I cannot reach them, I DON'T GO!

    Southern Hill Farms Facebook page. . Alternate Phone: 321-239-3137 We planted our first crop of blueberries in 2010 and currently have 40 acres of blueberry bushes on our 120 acre farm. We welcome guests to our family friendly blueberry u-pick farm when the blueberries are ready to be harvested at the peak of their ripeness, usually during the months of April and May. The blueberry u-pick and store will be open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm. Just the blueberry u-pick will be open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. The price in 2015 is $4/lb, and there is no entry or parking fee. We have raw honey, blueberry sauce, t-shirts and hats, as well as other items available for purchase in our store. We have 11 different varieties of blueberries on the farm and we encourage you to try them all! We have 1 gallon buckets for you to pick with, and clamshells for you to take your fruit home in. We have an observation deck to view the beautiful surrounding farm land, as well as a barn for shade and our Southern Hill Market. Check our website for more information about events throughout the season!. Admission and parking are free, and there is never an 'all you can eat' fee. We will provide you with all of the necessary equipment for picking once you arrive, including plastic one gallon buckets and clamshells to take your blueberries home in. Our blueberry bushes and rows are very well maintained, making it easy to access the fruit. They are also stroller accessible. We suggest wearing a hat, closed toe shoes and sunscreen to make your visit to the farm an enjoyable one. e have our new Blueberry Express ride, hayrides and food trucks available on the weekends, as well as a covered playground for children and new permanent restroom facilities. Flower Picking Tips, and Information

Farms that offer U-pick or pick-your-own flowers are becoming more common.

  • Once picked, quickly get the stems into water
  • Get them out of the hot sun after picking to increase shelf life.  Cool shade is best.
  • Re-cut stems while underwater - once you get home. Making a fresh cut, while the cut end is submerged helps the stem to take up water and avoid a vapor lock.
