Add a Farm in the New Zealand to PickYourOwn.org

(and also www.PickYourOwnChristmasTree.org and www.PumpkinPatchesAndMore.org )

Are you looking to get your farm noticed by millions of likely customers? Post your information here for free and I will add it to one or more of my "pick-your-own" web sites, as appropriate.  Our web sites are free to both farmers and consumers, and this, along with the local, national and international scope, ensures that your farm's listing will be seen by consumers in your area!

Add your farm: This one form (below) enters your farm into PickYourOwn.org, PickYourOwnChristmasTree.org and PumpkinPatchesAndMore.org, as appropriate. You will receive a confirmation email if you complete the form process (there are 2 or 3 pages).

Add my festival or event - See this page (click the link at left), if you are looking to add an community event or festival, which is not held at a farm.

Correct, Update or Revise your listing - please continue down this page unless you only have one or two minor changes.
If you have several changes, or they are complicated, or you want to rewrite your listing), then press PgDn now to carry on.
If you have only one or two minor changes (like a phone number), use the corrections form.

Delete your entry via the corrections form.

Look for the submit button at the bottom of each form page.  When you are done, you will see a big "Thanks!" - if you don't see that, then you must be overlooking a submit button! (after each "submit" the program validates what you have entered (looks for missing information, corrects some misspellings, etc.)

Important Notes:

Just enter the information requested below. The text boxes are generally limited to 400 characters. The Blue Boxes are required, the yellow are optional, but where applicable, the optional information definitely helps customers to come visit your farm. Please be brief, but descriptive - we reserve the right to edit to remove profanity, correct grammar and spelling or trim it down to a reasonable size.

Links - Add links to pages on your website where the form asks for links (but not in the general text boxes)! The Google ads on the banners I put on the external links are what pays for the site, and grows commensurate with the traffic, so again, that keeps it free for both farmers and consumers, which helps everyone! In return, I'll ask you to link back to at least one page on pickyourown.org (a recipe, picking tips, whatever ) and that will help YOUR websites ranking in the search engines, too!

Hype - If you want  to add several paragraphs of colorful descriptive text about what makes your farm a special visit, that's great, but that's called advertising, which we do, too, for a small annual fee, not a free basic listing (remember, all the extra text ends up costing us, and if I let everyone do that, I couldn't keep it free).

Abbreviations:  Please do not use ANY abbreviations for ANYTHING.  Not dates, street names, days of the week, months, NOTHING! People do NOT search Google for "Sat.", "Ave.","M-F".  When you use ANY abbreviations, REPEAT ANY ABBREVIATIONS for ANYTHING, you greatly reduce the chances of YOUR farm showing up in a Google search! . They ALSO look unprofessional and often confuse potential customers.  The program tries to correct and replace any abbreviations, including "Sun." for Sunday", "-" for "to" or "through" and so on. so if you use them, you may get weird results.

Capital letters - Please do NOT type in all CAPITAL LETTERS!  (It takes me forever to change it to normal, legible type; which must be done manually, because NO ONE WANTS TO READ TYPE LIKE THIS - and that will considerably slow down getting your listing up! I will reject your entry if it is in capital letters!!!  I cannot make it more plain. Thanks! )

Future plans - I'm in the process of adding databases, which will enable you to log on and make changes more easily and allow much more powerful searches, by fruit, vegetable, area, etc.  It should make the website easier for you and for the customers, plus easier to navigate!  This should be ready by this winter.
