Conditions at the farms and crops can change literally overnight, so if you want to avoid a wasted trip out there - check with the farm directly before you go! Notes for November 2024: Crop growth is slowing down, except for Christmas tree farms and if you live in southern California, southern Texas, Florida or along the Gulf coast where citrus are starting, and believe it or not, the blueberry and strawberry season in those areas is about to begin. See your state harvest calendar . This year, much of the country is still seeing mild weather, so lettuce, peas, broccoli, cabbage  and other greens are thriving.  And this is a good time to get a canner and  learn how to preserve foods for the winter, like canning some applesauce, apple butter or jam, which make great gifts. As do your own homemade specialty liqueurs! How about homemade cranberry sauce or a pumpkin pie made from a real pumpkin for the holidays? We grow two acres of organic blueberries in the rich valley-bottom soils of the Chimacum Valley. These berries are much beloved for their size, sweetness and general tastiness! We sell our berries primarily at local farmers markets and local stores like the PT Food Coop and Chimacum Corner Farmstand. Each season is different in the berry field, depending on the elements. If the berry season is abundant, then we can occasionally open for public picking by special announcement. However most years we are not able to open to the public for general picking and we limit picking to members of our Berry Club. To join the Berry Club, you pay a membership fee of $30 (DEADLINE is generally June 30th but this year we are still taking sign-ups). Once you gain membership in the Berry Club, we will notify you by email of open U-Pick hours weekly. Berry Club Members still pay for the berries picked, but at a special Club price: $3 per pound. Our organic orchard features 6,000+ organic heirloom and traditional cider apple trees, with more than 24 traditional European and early American varieties planted over ten acres in tresslised pyramidal pruning, for open centers that maximize light exposure. The blueberries are certified organic. Cranguyma Farm's 60 year-old U-Pick blueberry patch features seven different cultivars of the plant, including weymouth and rancocas, which ripen in early summer, and pemberton, jersey, and dixi, which ripen closer to August.
