Remember to always check with the farm's own website or Facebook page before you go - or call or email them if they don't have a website or Facebook page. Conditions at the farms and crops can change literally overnight, so if you want to avoid a wasted trip out there - check with the farm directly before you go! And if you know of any farms I missed and want to add a farm, please let me know!   I'm making updates for this year as fast as I can - if you find anything out-of-date, wrong or not working - please let me know! Notes for April 2024: Spring is here! Strawberry season is here.  It started in February in Florida, Texas, southern California and a few other areas of the Deep South; then March along the Gulf coast, April in the Deep South and west coast, May through much of the country, and June in northern areas. Blueberries are next, about a month later. Of course, cool weather crops, like Rhubarb, asparagus and greens should be available almost everywhere. Check your area's copy calendar (see this page) and call your local farms for seasonal updates.

Open: U-Pick and picked Strawberries are available from December through February along with other various picked fresh seasonal vegetables. Bellamy Grove Facebook page. The u-pick field at Bellamy Grove is often open in season on Thursday, Friday, Saturday,and Sunday from 9-4 each day. The 2024 price of the berries will be $3/lb for the remainder of the season.The collards and kale are still in the field for u-pick and are $2/lb (2024) . The sweet onions are still available, Payment: cash, only. The orange trees bloom like crazy in March. While you are here you can walk over to the trees and smell the blossoms up close if you like, or maybe take pictures. The address for the field is 8400 E. Moccasin Slough Rd. Inverness,Fl. Follow the signs to the back of the property where there is plenty of parking. Bellamy Grove was established in 1930 and we have been selling fruit from our seasonal roadside stand since 1992.   A visitor writes on June 07, 2013: "I've been picking at Misty Meadows for the past few weeks, their blueberries are fabulous, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. They do suggest you always call ahead, to make sure the berries are plentiful. And great site, I use it often, and just passed it along to 2 FL friends that are jealous of all the produce I find that I can pick myself. Thanks for doing all this work for us, it's appreciated. ;)"

Also some prepicked fruit: blueberries and cultured blackberries. We are a low spray operation and put bluebird houses all over so they control the insects. We also sell cypress bluebird houses which attract the birds, and grow and sell gourds too, and make birdhouses out of them. The large "Garden of Weed'n" has blooming flowers for all to enjoy and we sell out the potted plants for sale, too. Located three miles south of Floral City just off highway U.S. 41 Look for the old blue van with the large U-PICK signage pointing the way. We are one hour north of Tampa but have regulars that come from much farther to enjoy this unique place. We hope to have a bountiful Spring crop of Blueberries, peaches, and a few plums in the April, May, June. Visit this page about mid April to find out when we will open. I just spoke with the lady that runs it and the frost killed off her whole crop this spring, but is looking at a great fall crop of pears, persimmon and grapes. So, they are still open. At one time, this property was a fully operational orange grove known as Banes Grove that was left unattended for over a decade. This is an outdoor, u-pick experience.
