Remember to always check with the farm's own website or Facebook page before you go - or call or email them if they don't have a website or Facebook page. Conditions at the farms and crops can change literally overnight, so if you want to avoid a wasted trip out there - check with the farm directly before you go! Notes for November 2024: Crop growth is slowing down, except for Christmas tree farms and if you live in southern California, southern Texas, Florida or along the Gulf coast where citrus are starting, and believe it or not, the blueberry and strawberry season in those areas is about to begin. See your state harvest calendar . This year, much of the country is still seeing mild weather, so lettuce, peas, broccoli, cabbage  and other greens are thriving.  And this is a good time to get a canner and  learn how to preserve foods for the winter, like canning some applesauce, apple butter or jam, which make great gifts. As do your own homemade specialty liqueurs! How about homemade cranberry sauce or a pumpkin pie made from a real pumpkin for the holidays? See our comprehensive list of easy home canning, jam and jelly making, preserving, drying and freezing directions. Directions: Nolte Rd is a new road so it may not be in your GPS. Go East on 192 out of St. Cloud. Turn right on Hickory Tree Rd. (by the 7-11). Go down about a mile to Nolte Rd. (its a brand new 4 lane divided road). Turn right onto Nolte. The house is the first house on the left . You should see u-pick signs in the yard. Payment: CASH or CHECK Only. The Florida Peach has been a work-in-process undertaken by the fine agricultural professors at the University of Florida for over 40 years. Their work has come to fruition in the last several years, and now the tree-ripened Florida Peach is a coveted commodity. We have 6 acres of peach trees. The trees bloom in January, and fruit becomes available usually in early April and through the month of May. The 26th Pioneer Day sponsored by Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures features family friendly activities, including live music by Folk Hill Revivial, a kids craft zone, a real Florida market, historic reenactment, and lessons in pioneer chores like cow-milking and butter-making. Explore the Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek and learn how Florida Seminoles and early pioneer families lived off the land long before electricity and air-conditioning while enjoying delicious BBQ from Big John's Rockin' BBQ or a slice of pizza from Cici's Pizza. The newly expanded Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek features eight of Osceola County's oldest structures. The Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek will also display four new 1800s replica buildings including a Schoolhouse, Train Depot, General Store and Church. The outdoor event will feature historic demonstrations, self guided tours of the pioneer dwellings, live music and family friendly activities.
