It looks like most festivals are returning, aside from those that were killed off by the lockdowns of the past 2 years. That took a heavy toll on their finances. I am checking with them day by day, if you have an update for an, please tell me via the Feedback form.

Rhode Island 2024 Strawberry Festivals - Where, When and More Details!

There are two general types of strawberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Strawberry festival held at and by a farm

They are different in what they offer, so they are grouped separately. (of course not all states and areas have both. And following the festival listings are links to our easy to follow directions about making strawberry jam, freezing strawberries, strawberry pies and much more. 

Community Strawberry Festivals

  • Cranston Shriners Summer Strawberry Festival - mid-June from 6 PM to 10 PM UPDATE for 2022, Hasn't been held the past 2 years and there is no update for 2022 on their website about it, as of May 2022 - call them, email them or keep checking their website

  • Smith's Castle Strawberry Festival - (The second Saturday in June every year)  - Saturday, June 18, 2022 (rain date Sunday) 12 pm to 4 pm

Smith's Castle will host its annual Strawberry Festival, its seasonal celebration of spring with a rain date of Sunday, a day later. This year's festival will once again feature puppeteer Dan Butterworth, entertainment by the Jesse Liam Band, and children's activities including Pony Rides and Baby Chicks, courtesy of Casey Farm. Other activities and local vendors will also be included, and of course, our famous homemade strawberry shortcake, for purchase.  2019 Admission is $8.00 per adult, children 5-12 $6.00, free under 5 years of age.$20.00 family cap.
  • Strawberry Fest Trinity Church Newport Annual Strawberry Festival - Saturday, in mid-June; June 18, 2022 from 11 AM to 5 PM, Rain or Shine.
    Trinity Church, Newport, 1 Queen Anne Sq, Newport, Rhode Island 02840. Phone: (401) 846-0660. Email: aadminassistant@trinitynewport.org. Trinity Church in Newport will hold its annual Strawberry Fest with FREE Admission. The Festival celebrates all things strawberry, with Food, live Music, and quality Artisans and Crafters on the lawn of Trinity Church on Queen Anne Square. The highlight of the Festival is the homemade strawberry shortcake*, made with freshly picked sweet strawberries and mounds of real whipped cream...simply Heavenly!!  (*while supplies last)   Historic Trinity Church, which has been visited by dignitaries from George Washington to Queen Elizabeth, will be open for tours during the festival, so come enjoy a beautiful summer day in Newport.  Click here for a link to our Facebook page.

Farm Strawberry Festivals

In addition to community and church festivals, some private farms have their own strawberry festivals in June.  See each farm for this year's dates (they often do not announce them until the end of May).
