It looks like most festivals are returning, aside from those that were killed off by the lockdowns of the past 2 years. That took a heavy toll on their finances. I am checking with them day by day, if you have an update for an, please tell me via the Feedback form.

I update the dates as soon as the festivals publish their information, but you can always click on the links (usually the name of the festival) to see the current information on the festival's own website.

Canada

Blueberries typically ripen from July to August in the most areas of Canada. And then there are saskatoons (a.k. juneberries) which as similar to blueberries.

There are two general types of blueberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Blueberry festival held at and by a farm. They are different in what they offer, and community festivals tend to be less expensive so they are grouped separately. (of course not all states and areas have both.)

  • Brigus Annual Blueberry Festival - August
    Brigus, Newfoundland, Canada. The Brigus Blueberry Festival is an Award Winning 4 day event held in mid August. Starting on the Friday before the August long weekend and lasting for ten fun-filled days, residents and visitors come together to form a bond of great communal spirit. Many of the events encompass the beauty of the area, allowing participants and spectators to enjoy the plentiful lakes and beaches. 2023 is Sioux Lookout’s 41st Blueberry Festival.

  • Saskatoon Berry Festival - usualy in early July however in 2019 it will be on June 29th.

Each year we put on a big day of summer fun with the Saskatoon Berry Festival usualy in early July. 5,000 people with purple teeth can't be wrong! Come and celebrate summer in Mortlach with a pancake breakfast, music, vendors, a parade, pie and ice cream, children's activities, beer gardens, and more! Pre-order Saskatoon Berry Pies : We are able to guarantee whole pies to customers who pre-order and pre-pay for their pies between June 1 st - June 26th. We will also sell whole pies on June 29 that the Mortlach Saskatoon Berry Festival on a first come first served basis. Each year we order more pies, but each year we sell out, so we encourage you to pre-order.
    In 2019, Pies cost $15.50 each, no taxes for Pre-ordered pies. Pies need to be picked up in Mortlach June 29th between 9:00-4:00. Pies will be sold for$16.00 on June 29th so PRE-Order!.
